The following Standing Committees have been found to be necessary and shall be maintained by recruiting volunteers from the general membership:
Adhoc Committees
The Board may, from time to time, establish ad hoc committees to help carry out its responsibilities. To preserve Board unity, these committees will be used sparingly, only when other methods have been deemed inadequate. Ad hoc committees will be used so as to minimally interfere with the wholeness of the Board’s job.
Divisions of the Chamber
Tourism Tofino, a division of the Tofino-Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, has been created to achieve the following goals:
- Market and promote tourism in Tofino with the goal of increasing tourism related visitation and revenues on a year round basis;
- Manage visitor information services under the auspices of Tourism BC;
- Support and promote events and festivals including, but not limited to, the Pacific Rim Whale Festival; and
- Coordinate regional tourism initiatives in cooperation with other stake holder partners.

Committees and Working Groups
The purpose of committees and working groups at the Chamber varies depending on the issue(s) being addressed and the type of group formed. Each year, the Board of Directors evaluates the groups to determine their focus and structure for the upcoming year. For 2009, the Chamber has three standing committees and three working groups. The work of committees and working groups support the Chamber's vision, mission, values and goals.
