Tofino Chamber Thanks Outgoing Leader and Announces New President

Tofino, BC December 19, 2024 – The Tofino-Long Beach Chamber of Commerce (TLBCC) extends its heartfelt gratitude to Laura McDonald, who has completed her tenure as President of the Board of Directors and transitioned to past president. Over the past five years, Laura has demonstrated exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the Chamber and the local business community. Her contributions have left a lasting impact, guiding the Chamber through challenges and opportunities with resilience and vision.

“It has been a privilege to serve as President and work with such an incredible group of people who are passionate about making Tofino thrive,” said Laura McDonald. “I am immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished together and look forward to seeing the Chamber continue to grow under new leadership.”

As Laura steps down, the Chamber is excited to announce Myles Beeby's appointment as the new President of the Board of Directors. Myles brings a strong background in community engagement and a deep commitment to fostering a vibrant and sustainable economy in Tofino and the surrounding region.

“I am honored to take on this role and build upon the incredible work that Laura has accomplished,” said Myles Beeby. “Together with the Board, our members, and our partners, I look forward to advancing initiatives that strengthen our local businesses and support our community.”

Samantha Hackett, Executive Director of the TLBCC, acknowledged the seamless transition of leadership: “Laura’s leadership has been instrumental in positioning the Chamber as a vital resource for businesses, and we are deeply thankful for her dedication. At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Myles into this role and are confident in his ability to guide the Chamber into a bright future.”

With this leadership change, the Chamber reaffirms its commitment to supporting local businesses, advocating for sustainable development, and fostering economic opportunities that benefit the entire community.
